When is Poplar & Payne opening?

Our goal is to open in late August or early September, depending on the renovation timeline. We’ll continue sharing updates on our website and social media as we get closer to opening.

What are your store hours?

Poplar & Payne will be open during the following hours:

• Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

• Sunday: 10:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Do I need to be at my booth during store hours?

No! One of the benefits of being a vendor at Poplar & Payne is that you don't have to staff your booth. Our team is in the store during business hours to greet customers, process sales, and provide excellent customer service. You're always welcome to stop by, restock, refresh your booth, or interact with shoppers, but there is no requirement to be present during store hours.

What is included with my booth space?

Vendors are responsible for providing and setting up their own booth displays, fixtures, shelving, and décor to create a space that reflects their brand. This gives each booth its own unique personality and shopping experience. The only exception is our bookshelf rental spaces, which include the bookshelf itself. If you have questions about booth layouts or need guidance while planning your space, we're always happy to help!

Poplar & Payne is an upscale boutique marketplace featuring thoughtfully curated small businesses, artists, makers, and specialty brands under one roof.

Vendor Questions

How do I become a vendor?

Complete the Vendor Application on our website. Applications are reviewed as they’re received, and accepted vendors will be contacted with next steps.

Are spaces still available?

Yes—but spaces are filling quickly. Once we’re at capacity, we’ll begin a vendor wait list.

Is there a wait list?

Yes. If all vendor spaces have been reserved, new applicants will be added to our wait list and contacted as openings become available.

What are your booth rates?

• Standard Space: $4 per square foot/month

• Premium Window Space: $5 per square foot/month

• 4’ × 4’ Island Display: $250/month

• 6’ Wall Display: $200/month

• 4’ Bookshelf Display: $150/month

How long is the lease?

Our initial lease is 6 months, followed by month-to-month leasing.

Do you charge commission?

Yes. Poplar & Payne charges a 15% commission on sales. We do cover credit card processing fees.

What point-of-sale system do you use?

We use SimpleConsign, allowing vendors to easily track inventory and sales.

Can I customize my booth size?

Yes! Most standard spaces can be customized to fit your business and product line (as space is available.)

Can I share a booth with another vendor?

Please contact us to discuss shared space opportunities. We’ll review requests on a case-by-case basis.

Is there parking available at Poplar & Payne?

Yes! We have plenty of parking available. There are several convenient spaces in the front of the store off Poplar Avenue, plus additional parking behind the building. Simply enter the driveway beside AT&T, where you’ll find our back parking lot and a back entrance that will be open during business hours for easy access.

Workshops & Artists

Do you offer workshops?

Yes! We’re looking for talented instructors to host creative workshops.

Who can teach classes at Poplar & Payne?
We welcome talented makers, artists, creators, and professionals who are passionate about sharing their skills with the community. If you have a class idea, we'd love to hear from you!

What types of classes can be taught?
We encourage a wide variety of hands-on and educational classes, including art, crafts, floral design, woodworking, cooking, photography, business, wellness, DIY projects, and more. We're always open to unique ideas that create a fun experience for our guests.

When are classes held?
Most classes will be held after normal business hours, allowing teachers to have a dedicated space and giving guests a relaxed, enjoyable experience.

How do I reserve a class date?
Class dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend scheduling early to secure your preferred date and time.

Who provides the supplies for a class?
In most cases, instructors are responsible for providing any materials or supplies needed for their class unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Can non-vendors teach classes?
Yes! You do not have to be a Poplar & Payne vendor to teach a class. We welcome talented instructors from the community who are excited to share their knowledge and creativity.

How long are classes typically?
Class lengths vary depending on the subject, but most workshops are between one and three hours.

How can I apply to become an instructor?
Simply reach out through our website or contact us directly with your class idea, a brief description, and any relevant experience. We'd love to learn more about what you'd like to teach!

What are the classrooms like?
Our classrooms measure approximately 24' × 25', providing a comfortable and flexible space for a variety of workshops and educational experiences. The room comfortably accommodates 10–15 students and can fit up to 20, depending on the class setup and seating arrangement.

What is the Featured Artist program?

Each month we’ll highlight a local artist with a dedicated display in the store.

Who can apply to be the Featured Artist?

We’re currently accepting applications from painters and photographers.

What types of products will you carry?

You’ll find a carefully curated collection of apparel, home decor, artwork, candles, soaps, gifts, pet products, coffee, accessories, handcrafted goods, and much more from local and small businesses.

Will you be accepting new vendors after opening?

Absolutely! As space becomes available, we’ll continue reviewing applications and contacting vendors from our wait list.
